Classic Beef Tacos
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon, until cooked through and well browned, about 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add all spices and water. Stir and simmer over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until liquid is absorbed and meat is well coated and fragrant. Taste and adjust salt and cayenne.
- Warm tortillas directly over a gas flame or in a dry skillet — charred edges are a good thing.
- Serve taco bar style with all the toppings and lime wedges on the side.
Notes
Homemade taco seasoning is infinitely better than the packet and takes 30 seconds to mix. Make a big batch and keep it in a jar.
